
Orbit Hopper
This game is Part of the GMTK GameJam 2025, the theme of the Jam was LOOP.
A Orbital Loop game where you're a Pilot with a spaceship escaping the Event horizon of a looming Black Hole. Loop around planets to build up momentum and travel through space to avoid crashing or being engulfed. Stumble upon many references to other famous Sci-Fi related easter eggs.
Controls:
Hold Left Mouse Click to build speed in orbit around a planet
Release to move somewhere to exit the orbit of a planet
Right Mouse Click + aim with Mouse to boost sideways, but the thruster is unruly, so watch out not to turn to space dust!

Known Bugs:
- Ship doesn't react to orbit or the flying state never exits and that causes a unintended behavior with the game where you are immune to collision, if this occurs it requires a reset.

No começo eu achei a mecânica do jogo um pouco difícil, demorei pra entender como que pegava fuel cells (fiquei um tempo tentando decifrar o que poderia diferenciar um planeta que tinha uma fuel cell de um que não tinha) e só depois (de algumas mortes xD) entendi que havia uma chance aleatória de pegar uma cada vez que orbitava um planeta. Assim que peguei o jeito a gameplay ficou bem mais fluida e divertida (e eu consegui zerar :p).
Gosto do estilo artístico, especialmente os planetas e o efeito que sai da nave são bem bonitos. A fonte escolhida é bem legal e combina com o resto do projeto (gosto principalmente da hud, o layout do timer com a fonte ficou massa).
De problema eu só tive um stutterzinho super breve que não chegou a atrapalhar a gameplay.
No mais, é um bom projeto, meus parabéns à equipe :)
I escaped spaghettification.
Fun hopping around from orbit to orbit, had a bit of stutter and was a little unclear on what triggered getting a fuel cell, but I like the vibe! Event Horizon animation looks great!
Some unintended problems arose when we made the Web Version it stutters a bit due to the procedural generation, thank you! and the Fuel Cell is random from when you arrive on a planet, The intended strategy is getting used to looping around planets and survive while the timer goes on, our team enjoyed the pressure from all that a lot so we decided to go with it like that.
